Great crescendo to the release by the horns as we finish the Respighi.

Nice opening fanfare for Ben Hur, too.

Horns now playing backfield, low brass only from the sound of it.

Just like that, back facing front, a silent drill move, and a final hit to finish the show.

OK, I'm giving in and getting a snack during INT. Be right back with the second half of OC Finals!

In 1975 there were 19 Class A Corps and 10 All Girl Corps 29 total, that competed at the first Class A prelims. 5 made both finals. BITD there were only prelims and Finals for the Class A Corps. Just the week before at the 75 Class A US Open there were 42 Corps. Even back then all Corps did not go to finals.

Next on the field is the Radiers from Wayne, New Jersey. Their 2010 program is entitled "Platinum Celebration" and consists of:

Celebration Fanfare by Hamilton, Michael

Exultate by Hazo, Samuel

Exhilaration by Clark, Larry

New Beginnings by Boyer, Peter

Drum line for Raiders opened warm-up with free form playing. I even saw tenors reaching out and playing on the basses. Fun.

Turn down the pit, guys. Your horn line isn't THAT big.

Low brass really roars during their feature during the opener. In fact, I'd say they're the strongest part of the show so far.
