After much deliberation and logistical engineering, I am ready to announce the list of major events for the upcoming season of DCPI. This season marks a big first for our league. For the first time ever, finals will take place outside of North America. We'll be going all the way to the Land of the Rising Sun as we travel to TOKYO, JAPAN! World class finals will be held at Saitama Stadium, on the north side of Tokyo. Venues for the Open and A class championship events will be announced at a later date:

Since finals are out west this season, there will again be a contracted regional tour that lasts only 3 weeks instead of the usual 4, which will contain most of the early-season home shows as well as the Southern Star Cup in Orlando, the California State Open show in San Jose, the Canadian Open in Montreal, the Great Lakes Invitational, to be held on a rotating basis between East Lansing and Ann Arbor (this season's event will take place in East Lansing), and other popular events.

Locaions for the regional finals are:

East: East Rutherford NJ, New Meadowlands Stadium

South: Clemson SC, Memorial Stadium (aka Death Valley)

Midwest: Kansas City MO, Arrowhead Stadium

West: Salt Lake City UT, Rice-Eccles Stadium

We will also have our standard slate of Focus shows. The plan is that all world class focus shows will be 2-day prelims-finals format. The first 2 major focus shows will take place in week 4. One will be in Minneapolis MN's TCF Bank Stadium (tornado insurance has already been purchased) with accompanying Open/A class show in Lacrosse WI. The second will take place at the Fanfare Championships in Memphis TN at the Liberty Bowl, with accompanying Open/A class show at Tennessee Tech University. Meanwhile, the second Organizational championship, the CLASS Championship, will take place the day before Memphis at its typical venue in Bowling Green KY:

Week 5 will bring all corps together deep in the heart of Texas for a focus show in San Antonio TX. This will be the only time that all world class corps will compete in the same place before finals week. Denton TX and Oklahoma City OK will host the accompanying Open/A class shows:

After week 5, the tour will split into 3 directions for the last 2 weeks of the regular season. Corps not staying in the US will be able to travel to either Europe OR the Pacific region. Corps traveling to Europe will have major shows in Liverpool England in week 6, and the European championships will be split between Barcelona Spain and Monte Carlo, Monaco:

Corps traveling to the Pacific will have their week 6 focus show in Seoul, South Korea, and we're bringing back the Pacific Rim championships with an all-Australian event, staged in Brisbane and Melbourne:

WOW! :thumbup::tongue:

Is the season going to begin in December/January per usual, just with earlier registration, or will the season be moved up also?

It'll be an earlier registration, but the season will start around the same time.
