RayH
another fun one is looking at Columbia PA on 8/25/90, beating Empire by 1.3 ( 92.9 to 91.6) and then a week later at finals losing by .9 (95.2 to 94.3)...spread at prelims was bigger (2.5, losing to Empire 96.8 to 94.3) Had to go back and watch 1990 again, and after seeing that....I was surprised Shore came in 4th. Their M&M was God-awful, drumline was great, hornline was just average, drill seemed to be a mess. They started the year off pretty good, then won Scranton, but should NOT have won that last show before DCA. Empire started out good also, they beat Shore in Easton Pa. to start their season off. The only corp to beat them all year was Shore a couple times, then came DCA prelims, they followed Bush and the crowd went crazy for them. (You could hear a pin drop when Bush was out there). When they were announced 3rd for prelims, all **** broke lose and then came that retreat ceremony. If you were there, then that needs no explanation. Empire Cabs and Shore had traded many victories back and forth all summer. I just love the percussion ex recap from finals. Where you went on is where you placed. Yeah it works out that way
