drumno5
And I was responding to the comment that said, "I believe all OC corps will be competing in Quarterfinals." We do not know if all will be there. And I seriously doubt that the OC corps will have to change the length of their shows. OK, sorry - didn't mean to call you out or anything. I do wonder what the story is as far as timing/length of show is concerned: are the sheets/rules different for open vs. world? Fred O. DreaminMello
Maybe Corps like BDB, SCV Cadets will prep in advance and lengthen their show..... I see them as being competitive in World class. This was done back in the 80's as well. A class got to compete in quarters etc. And as for lengthening the prelims days, again look at the 70's and 80's there were 50+ corps competing in DCI. might be a nice change to have more corps compete. (Back then making top 25 was a big deal, today there are only like 22 corps in world class)
IntheMood
At the beginning of the season there are some WC Corps who do not put on a full 11 min. show on the field and they do not get penalized, score wise. So if this is the case, I see no reason why an OC Corps with an 9 min. show should be treated different. Dean

No problem. Got it from 2 of the Open Class directors that I saw and talked to at BOA in Indy this past weekend. According to them, Open Class will be doing the same length show they have been. They will compete on Thursday and beyond with the same show they used throughout the season even though World Class shows will be longer. Dir_en_X
If I were the director, or marching member, of "any" OC corps my reaction would be: Great; let's do it! This is why we spent the summer doing this! We get to perform another time before heading home! So, why are you limiting it to the top 5 OC and not all of the OC? I'm not saying that the top 5 of the OC should go to WC Quarters, I was only supposing that those corps go and the others opt out for whatever reason. I'd like to see all the OC corps go to WC Quarters, I was only expressing concern for the length of the day for everyone involved. I wouldn't too happy being up at 3am for a 8am performance time but if it meant going against all of the corps combined that would be awesome. I'm upset I aged out right before this rule came into effect.
