Sam98
“Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin” is loosely translated as, “God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end.” Coincidental, or was Star's staff serving notice to the corps that had had a lock on the top 5 the past 10 years? Callawyn
“Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin” is loosely translated as, “God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end.” Coincidental, or was Star's staff serving notice to the corps that had had a lock on the top 5 the past 10 years? The origin of the phrase "the writing is on the wall", and also, "you have been weighed in the scales and found wanting". The writing was certainly on the wall in '90 :) Unfortunately, I'd aged out by then. It was thrilling to be able to perform some of the music from this show last summer with the Star Alumni corps. Fantastic piece to open the show, the crowd goes berserk just on the high brass entrance, before the bari's and tubas even put their horns up. When the low brass enters, the babies start getting thrown and the battery has yet to play.

There are so many ways why that show should not have worked as well as it did.
