t-mac
ok, my curiosity is aroused. Someone from GuardWorld clue me in. What am I likely to hear from a mic-ed guard?
Michael Boo
A. Guard can already be amped B. I'm not sure how much stimulating and provocative discussion is going on and C. Pancakes are better than waffles. And don't even get me started on crepes. A. I'll believe it when I see everyone doing it. B. I'm provoked by your stimulating response, so I'd say quite a bit. C. I thought we all agreed not to dial up the arms race to crepes. Once one hits crepes, blintzes can't be far behind. And we all know what would happen then. jjeffeory
I think lots of fans would be turning on their cellphones in the hopes of finding out. Well that could the key to audience participation! Sort of like Texting! I mean, a cellphone would be involved! I think THAT's a great way for technology to be involved in drum corps!
jplattSCV
With all the hoopla about amping percussion and brass, should we finally cross the line and allow guards to be amped? And, if so, how should we do it? What benefits might we experience from amping the guards? What downsides might we experience? We can hear what I like to call "Cheeleader Seven" from the gaurd during regular Four Four time. ONE two THREE four FIVE six SEV-en! ONE two THREE four FIVE six SEV-en! ONE two THREE four FIVE six SEV-en!

lastknight
The Glassmen had those rifles with tambourine jinglers built in a few years ago... Maybe Mike's idea isn't so bad... :) Didn't certain rifle lines tape Silver dollars to the back of their straps back in the day?
MN DCI Fan
No way. Imagine, if you will: 1. Herbert Washington, micced, throws a 13. 2. On the catch, he lets loose a thunderous "HA!" 3. Lucas Oil Stadium collapses. No thank you.
