After looking at the recaps from San Antonio what's up with Crown's scores .....

Although it is a way more sophisticated and more difficult version, perhaps it may be difficult to win with a modern "VK style show"? If anything see 1990 BD and 2007 Cavaliers as shows that could of won, but fell a few places short. Maybe it is hard for the judges to take their choice of programming as a championship contender. I do like the show and would have no issue if they did win..

Guard and percussion are consistently keeping them down.

They are the crowd favorite and have the best brass line... but 4th is becoming consistent this week. And while the Cadets and BD have closed the gap with the Cavies, Crown's has grown over the past week.

This is Crown's MO and has been for the last few years. It's not what is wrong with Crown's scores. It's that they do not have the staff capable of winning a championship, especially problematic is Leon May and the other visual staff people. So have and will continue to disagree with me, but judges over the last two and a half seasons have not give Crown much love visually and it's killing their overall chances to win.

You are right about the Guard. Wrong about the Percussion. It is the visual that is and continues to be problematic for Crown over the last 2 1/2 seasons.

The Cadevaliers are good. They have been for decades. Crown is by no means the only Corps to run into the power and might that is the Trifecta. In order to win a DCI Title its imperative to take out The Cadevaliers. Not just 1 or 2 of them. You have to take out all three in a single year. Its been done before. Usually every decade or so by a Corps. Its just rare, thats all.

Crown's guard and percussion sections are not as good as some in the Cadevaliers this year and has been keeping them from getting inside the circle that currently is the domain of The Cadevaliers.

I am talking about percussion relative to those in front of them (and the front ensemble has been consistently weak over the past few years).... they are solidly in 4th in the top u.2 behind Cadets, .4 behind Cavies, and .5 behind BD... this is up from 6th last week.... so yes, it is a problem with talking about Crown and a championship this year.... we are dealing with less than 2 points.
