Sunrisers Announce New Percussion Head

Recommended Posts

The Sunrisers are extremely excited to welcome J. Frank Nash to our staff for 2012 in the capacity of Percussion Caption Head and Battery Arranger.

Mr. Nash brings with him a wealth of drum corps experience, having begun his career at the age of six in a small corps from Brooklyn, NY that was an offshoot of the Loyal Order of Odd Fellows fraternal organization. Mr. Nash then continued his junior corps career with the Wynn Center Toppers, the St. Joseph Patron Cadets and the nationally ranked St. Rita's Brassmen of Brooklyn, NY.

From 1973 until the present, Mr. Nash has enjoyed associations with the New York Skyliners, Harrison Bushwackers, Hawthorne Caballeros, Syracuse Brigadiers, Atlanta Corpsvets and Fusion Core in the Drum Corps Associates' (DCA) arena. During that time he has been fortunate enough to be part of a record nine DCA World Championships and one American Legion National Title. In addition, Mr. Nash was also an integral part of seven DCA Percussion Titles. Mr. Nash is also a 3-time DCA individual Snare Drumming Champion. Mr. Nash has previously served as Percussion Caption Head and Arranger for various drum corps and high school bands in the tri-sate area, most notably the Caballeros, Skyliners, Corpsvets and the Lehigh Valley Knights in DCI Division III.

In September of 2007, Mr. Nash was inducted into the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame and is a member of the Vic Firth educational team…

That's huge. I already can't wait to see Sun in 2012, especially after this past year's show.
