LOL .

Stretch??

You say you repeatedly posted the same facts as Dapperpoet in this thread.

You did no such thing. (had you done so I would have responded to you just as I did to dapper)

That seems pretty non-factual to me.

Prior Dapper's post your best "fact" was copying a sentence off their website which described their educational philosophy and (in a flash of unmitigated brilliance) somehow transposed that sentence into some phantom document describing their event cancellation policy (implying that they promised never to cancel an event). You posted no facts. The only other fact in the thread was posted by Dan Balash pointing out this company was run by Nagy.

These guys are screwing up -- and they're clearly not coping with screwing up very well.

If -- instead of withholding information from the thread -- you had simply posted what you knew, perhaps DCP might have seen that you have some justification for your rants. Instead you implied and inferred and ranted.

My thanks again to Dapperpoet for making it public that these guys don't seem to be dealing honestly with the staff they contracted to appear at their events. Well done sir.

Ya know what, this is becoming childish, immature, and counterproductive. So, I will just let you have the last word on this and then let the readers of this thread decide on what facts were and were not presented. Now, back to trying to look out for the future people who could possibly get hosed by this farce.

No, the one thing I insisted on was no out of pocket money. The sad thing is, this is a really great idea. And of course, BD is doing is with its System Blue camps and I think Cadets (and probably lots of other corps) do too. It would give corps members a chance to share their knowledge, earn a little bit of money and get some teaching experience. Too bad the whole thing is such a disaster.

Oh, so you were referring to him trying to figure out how to pay for the flights to BD camps. Thanks for the clarification, because by what you wrote it sounded as if he was holding the bag on purchased tickets to the Accent events.

As long as they have financial backing they will continue to roll this thing forward by changing up the website, eliminating information about the past, and either a) bank the public not being aware of the previous shafting of kids and staff because the main public does not read DCP, or b) bank on the public having a very short-term memory span and will therefore quickly forget about the Eclipse situation as well as this initial Accent farce.

We don't actually know if they have any financial backing or have spent a penny. Photos of sound gear on a web site isn't proof of ownership. It's just pictures. Do we know if the venues required some kind of deposit?

Financial information concerning money deposited ($8000) at the Gwinnett Center, and where that money was coming from (apparently Rick Poillon former CEO of a Pepsi Bottling Company, father of Brian who is in this endeavor with Chris), was posted by Tmpt82 in this thread. Not saying one way or the other about Tmpt82 as a source, but neither do we know if that information has been verified or not.

This is not about DCP; or even about us here on DCP; this is about looking out for the youth, parents, and potential young hungry staff who have, are, and could be financially hurt.

If anyone took more than about 3 minutes to dig into this... they would discover that while they've had a sort of rough start and really over-promised on a lot of things (which will probably result in them having to work hard to rebuild a few relations)... they seem to have guys involved now that have some business experience and they do have good guidance and some financial support.

The guy who stepped in a COO spent years working for Deutsche Bank and Razorfish... has some practical experiences. They have a little bit of capital, and guidance from a guy who was the CEO of Pepsi Bottling.

That is more solid business experience than the majority of posters in this thread tearing things down, and likely better than most other startup ventures in the activity.

Sure, it seems they have made some tough mistakes early on here... but, hopefully they'll make the right corrections and will do the right thing to rebuild with guys who feel like they have been slighted here.

They're just starting out... no one has even seen their actual project... but people on this site seem to really dive in and make all kinds of crazy assumptions and make accusations without knowing the full details (another recent thread here has highlighted the fact that these sort of assumptions might not be in line with the actual situation).

Anyway, seems a bit premature to make up your mind one way or another about what they've got going on. Once again, while many people might not know who the guys teaching this thing are.... they know who they're not. If kids and their parents determine that it is of value to spend the amount of money for who they are not... cool.
