ohbaby
Did they remaster the film frame by frame? Your right, it didn't look or sound great in the theater.
Pinwiz
1999 Blue Devils Wrong show from that year. If I want a Blu-ray remaster of any championship show, it's SCV 99 (with high cam as well).
ShortAndFast
I didn't really think the clips in the theater were any great improvement. If you're going to "remaster" '84 Garfield, how about showing the flipping Z pull instead of that fascinating guy in the pit?
Wadep66
Looks like they were trying to keep the thing from being a Cadevaliers fest.
leed17
Original TV aspect ratio preserved - that may mean we will be watching the older shows in 4:3 with black bars on either side, right?
bawker
Featuring: 1973 Santa Clara Vanguard (previously unavailable performance from historic Warhawk Stadium in Whitewater, Wisconsin.) 1975 Madison Scouts 1984 Garfield Cadets 1986 Blue Devils 1989 Santa Clara Vanguard 1991Star of Indiana 1994 Blue Devils 1996 Phantom Regiment 1999 Blue Devils 2000 The Cavaliers 2005 The Cadets 2006 The Cavaliers 2007 Blue Devils Meh. Got all of these in SD already. I'd pay 59 dollars for a collection of unreleased shows on Blu-Ray, though . . .maybe some 12-25 stuff they can get rights for. kckempf
Wrong show from that year. If I want a Blu-ray remaster of any championship show, it's SCV 99 (with high cam as well). I prefer the SCV 99 show as well. I do still like the Blue Devils 99 show, though, with its emphasis on rhythm. Not quite as visually interesting to me, which is a consistent critique from me of Blue Devils shows.
bchorn
Looks like they were trying to keep the thing from being a Cadevaliers fest. And instead they ended up with a Blue Devil fest. I don't get it. DCI has always gone to great lengths to keep things like this balanced. And even though the Cadets, Cavaliers, and SCV only have 2 shows in this collection, Blue Devils have 4. The Cadets, Cavaliers, and SCV all have a third show that could have easily been included instead of the fourth Blue Devil show. Disappointing. Peel Paint
Even if you like the show selections, which inevitably a lot of people will not, I suggest waiting for some reviews to be posted here about the picture and sound quality before purchasing. There is only so much they can do to make the older material look and sound like the HD material people have come to expect. They always said the historical material had been restored to look and sound fantastic in the theaters, and uh, no, not so much IMO. You can't really upconvert old video to look anything like a new HD/Blu-Ray production when it wasn't recorded that way to begin with. Some of the definition is gone for good.
