DrumScorps
Are members of the Cavaliers officially members of a boy scout troop? And if so, how does the recent news of the Boy Scouts of America reaffirming their stance on openly gay individuals affect them? I guess this could also apply to the Madison Scouts as well. http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/17/us/boy-scouts-gay/index.html
proudTXmom
Regarding BSA applications.... There are no questions regarding sexual orientation on the youth application; nor is there one on the adult membership application. OrlandoContraAlum
Not for nothing, but this thread probably is skirting VERY close to violating the TOC for the site... just a heads up.

proudTXmom
No. Hasn't been so for all but the first few years of the corps' existence. Didn't know that. Thank you for the information. Do the Madison Scouts maintain their affiliation with BSA? And if so, do they have to fill out a BSA membership app when they join the Corps? DrumScorps
that's a bit of a stretch - if the topic was to debate bsa's stance then maybe, but it doesn't As mentioned here, I was intending the thread to be more about the impact (if any) on the Cavaliers/Madison Scouts rather than people's opinions on the BSA's stance.
