Peel Paint
They both use hobby horses as props, but it's hard to imagine two shows that are farther apart on many dimensions than these two this year. Blue Devils feature jaw-dropping performance skill and groundbreaking design elements. Jersey Surf feature immediate accessibility and tons of fun. You can pick one or none, but you can't pick both. WIS
The horses serve very different purposes. I think Surf makes better use. I really was all prepared to dislike BD in San Antonio. Yet there were some design elements that fascinated me later in the show even though I wasn't paying that much attention earlier (I was too focused on why just one member had a shako for a large portion of the beginning of the show - totally distracted me). I know I'll pay more attention in Indy.
SFZFAN
Surf is just WAY more fun. Two completely different approaches to drum corps.

Yes, but nobody gets up on their high horse better than the Blue Devils either. Edited August 6, 2012 by BRASSO

BRASSO
<Poll: Who has the better hobby horses?> So, it's come to this. Its just a hobby of ours, Michael. In the end, the Blue Devils have the horses to go all the way. Edited August 6, 2012 by BRASSO
bluecoats88
to be honest BD and Surf have probably the 2 most entertaining shows of the season, they are just entertaining in very different ways. I loved both shows. If Surf's show was cleaner they could move up the standings since they have the GE.

I was laughing too hard when I wrote my response to remember to put a smiley face afterwards.
skywhopper
Surf makes more and better use of their horses.
garfield
Yes, but Crown still has 5 days to whip their horses into shape. And don't forget that they have experience in horse-racing; they won the Triple Crown in an excellently-depicted "photo-finish".
