And that helps explain why I posted a link to a photo of an anteater during Blue Devils' performance in either Prelims or Semifinals. Edit: Okay...someone took offense at that. Geez...I was celebrating my inner dada. I wrote "This is not a brick" under the anteater, which was a play on the famous dada painting of a pipe that said if French, "This is not a pipe," except in my case, it really wasn't a brick. BD staff members I spoke with encouraged all to get into the spirit of the show, which in part was to celebrate the unexpected. Again...geez. (AKA a band show announcer's worst nightmare. ) Fran, have you ever been announcing those over the PA when suddenly you realize that if you FINISH the entire airgram, you might get into trouble? :-P I always enjoy hearing announcers begin reading, then suddenly they stop and say...umm ok...moving on.
