Americanos Guard and DM (1973) -

Red Bolero jackets, white ruffled shirts, double-layered skirts with blk leather bodice, black slacks with reversible blk/red silken sash.

Went to the silver-sequined gouchos in '74. Fun stuff. :satisfied:

Here is a nice one of the best all time Kiltie uniform, at least one of the most authentic.

An even better trivia question for you. When did the 27th Lancers drums change from Black Watch tartan to Stewart?

What's authentic about wearing a work hat with a dress uniform?

What's authentic about wearing baseball socks?

What's authentic about a brooch made from chromeplated motor laminations and a bicycle reflector?

I think he meant the "look" was authentic. But you make an interesting point, that some uniforms were hand made with materials readily available and imagination.
