Galen
Scores are up. An interesting turn of play in Cincinnati last night. Today's events: Newcomer The Rocketeers host their home show event at Dalton HS in Asheville NC. Based on the results from Charlotte, this event should be just as exciting. La Salle IL's Fellows Stadium welcomes Star of Jupiter, who makes a rare early-season midwest visit tonight. Western corps visit the bay area with a competition in at Fremont HS in Sunnyvale CA. Midwest-based Oostburg Barnstormers will find themselves tangling with the best the west has to offer, including last season's open class champions, Texas Zephyrs. Galen
Tonight's events (which should be wrapping up soon): After pulling off an impressive win in Sunnyvale, the Texas Trailblazers will attempt to complete a Bay-area two-step at Diablo Valley College Stadium. Eastern corps venture north of the border for the first Canadian show of the season, which returns to Seagram Stadium in Kitchener-Waterloo ONT after last season's excursion to Guelph: And just one night after DCI staged a successful return to Evansville IN, the Reitz Bowl hosts more than 2 dozen corps, making it once again one of the most popular midwestern events of the season. Tyler C.
The Medford DCI show is an exhibition, in case that is what's delaying scores.
Galen
Scores are now up. I'll probably be uploading them the next morning for the time being due to my schedule these days. Today's events: Moving onto their "home turf" seems to have helped The Knights regain their fous after some early-season struggles. Tonight's show at PEPS Stadium in Quebec City will be another chance for them to bolster their confidence. Meanwhile, two events at Hart County HS in Munfordville KY and Sevier County HS in Sevierville TN will serve as excellent warmup shows for this Saturday's CLASS championships. Galen
Today's a very important day for several reasons. First, it's our second sweepstakes event weekend, so the results from tonight's shows in Montreal Quebec, Bowling Green KY and Sacramento CA will be doubly-important. Second, after tonight's shows, the caption change limits will go into effect and corps will only be able to make three caption changes per week. Third, the first bonus point will be given out after tonight's shows, and finally, corps that have been taking penalties for late registration will no longer be penalized after tonight. On to today's events: CLASS is sponsoring a pair of events today as their two major shows happen to fall on the same day. In Montreal Quebec, The Knights Org corps will be hosting their collective home show at Olympic Stadium. After a shaky start to the season, The Knights have definitely gotten things turned around and appear to be firing on all cylinders. Polaris Regiment and Star of Jupiter will be looking to blunt their momentum. There's also a very promising Class A matchup between Cape Cod Regiment and Xothyme for fans to get excited about. Back stateside, the CLASS Championships will once again be held at WKU Stadium in Bowling Green KY. One of our longest-running events, the Nastalgia group of corps has done an outstanding job of hosting this event. With corps like Quiksilver, Knights of Power, Nastalgia Vanguard, the surprising Cincinnati Light Brigade and the recently-resurgent Shadow in attendance, this event could give an early preview of what to expect in August. In Sacramento CA, the "rookie" tour continues as 7 first-time World Class corps lead a pack of units into Hornet Stadium for the last California event of the season. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/galen697/media/DCPI%2020/SacramentoCAHornetStadium20000_zps44ce2aba.jpg.html?sort=9&o=
Galen
My apologies for not being able to publish scores from Saturday as I was traveling and performing with Kilties all this weekend. Scores from Saturday's events will be published at 6 PM CST tomorrow. However, I believe the director of The Knights may have something special to share with us in the meantime. Galen
Happy July! The "preliminary" portion of the season is over and now we're getting into the meat and potatoes of the season, with events at Coffman HS in Dublin OH, Salem Stadium in Salem VA, Stellos Stadium in Nashua NH and Grants Pass HS in Grants Pass OR. The caption change limits and first point increase have also taken effect. Sweepstakes scores from the first two events will be posted later this evening. Galen
Seems to be a glitch with our score program this morning. We're looking into things and will try to have it resolved as soon as possible. Meanwhile, today's events take place at Champe HS in Warrenton VA, the Manning Stadium in Lynn MA and Hillsboro Stadium in Portland OR (no baseball games for us to deal with today!)
