Blackstar
The dumbest thing I read on DCP this season. Paraphrase, scoring a 20 out of 20 isn't a perfect score, it just means the judge thought they played it very well. I know I only have a GED but I always thought if you scored the maximum possible it was a perfect score.
cavie95
It is a perfect score but in no means does that mean the caption was 'perfect'. Mistakes can be seen/heard on the field and still get a score that is maximized. People should think of it as a 'maximum score', not a 'perfect score'.

If corps A's guard scores a 19.9, and corps B's guard is better even than corps A's even though they dropped a saber, then corps B should get the maximum score of 20.0, which obviously cannot be a perfect score. skywhopper
Scores are relative. Perfection is impossible. I agree that giving a 20.0 says something more than whatever spread exists with 2nd place, but it's not perfection.
Northern Thunder
My favorite was at '75 DCI finals, when the 27th Lancers, with four corps yet to follow, (they were 5th place overall at prelims) were given 10s in GE M & M and GE Brass. Fobo1991
Oh gosh, imagine if judges gave "extra credit" to allow captions to be scored above their maximum...
Northern Thunder
Oh gosh, imagine if judges gave "extra credit" to allow captions to be scored above their maximum... I've actually seen examples of negative numbers being given in captions 40-50 years ago.
hostrauser
If THAT'S the dumbest thing you've read on DCP all season, I can only assume you've logged on only 2-3 times so far in 2013.
