c mor
not my experience. just what many experienced guard people said all year seeing them perform around the region. I couldn't tell you what defines class appropriate on the guard side. hell, the lines are very blurred in drum world these days It all depends on how detailed the cat looks. (See Caleb Rothe's video on percussion unit classification) Other than that, I gather judges with experience watch a show, and can tell into which class a unit belongs. I don't believe there is specific criteria like, "Flam drags are played by open and world class..."
Jeff Ream
It all depends on how detailed the cat looks. I don't believe there is specific criteria like, "Flam drags are played by open and world class..." correct. talked to Caleb, Mark and many others about it. there's always been some overlap from the top of one class to the bottom of the next class up, but it seems the overlap runs deeper in both directions. the paradigm took a big shift last year, and I don't think it's settled yet.
