Only one corps associated with a blue uniform will stand on the Finals podium. Thus, while we never say never ( longshots do happen ) the winner of the Fri. nite show can be said to be in the drivers seat. Yeah, only 4 times (out of 43) has the Semi winner lost Finals. 3 of those were ages ago under the tick system ('72, '74, '83) where scores could dramatically change overnight. Funny, all 3 involved SCV, win or lose. The Phantom-BD switcheroo in 2008 was interesting. Weren't both drum judges (Prosperie & Pippitone) PR vets? I'm not saying anything...just perspectivizin'.
