Question about Dallas

Recommended Posts

Heading to Texas for three shows- looking for advice from someone who knows the Dallas area. Cool area to hang? Have Wednesday night to kill some time. Tried to see if a few corps were practicing but not much luck there...

THANKS

Whatever you do stay off the highway as much as possible around downtown Dallas. You're better off taking backroads. Food wise there's about anything you can possibly imagine everywhere you could imagine. What part of Dallas are you staying in?

A great thing I do when visiting new places and even sometimes at home is use Guy Fieri's triple D's to find places. I've never been to a bad place from that show.

If you're based in Richardson for the week, Uptown, Knox/Henderson should be doable. Ditto with Addison. If you're relatively close to a DART light-rail stop, not hard to get downtown/into the West End, either. Food-wise Deep Ellum is pretty solid. Ditto with craft/local breweries.

If you want an actual interesting town, come over to Fort Worth. :ninja: Generally better cultural district, downtown is actually walkable/has interesting things to do in it. Stockyards are fun, if a bit tourist-y. 7th Street (between downtown and the Cultural District) is also pretty great nowadays.

And Whataburger is by far the superior fast food place in the area.
