84BDsop
Don't forget Florida , California and MS. California hasn't fielded a Sr corps for several years. Renegades fell by the wayside after they were banned from DCA for a year...SoCal Dream just kinda died off.
Fran Haring
The Cabs at the beach show turned out to be a judges evaluation show without scores. That worked out pretty well. All the corps there put on a good show for the first time out. I wouldn't mind at all if the format stayed the same for next year and the years after that.
Jeff Ream
Cabs at the Beach first year was what 05/06? So since that time, pretty much Bucs have dominated, and came out pretty much ready each year. Yes, many years they had mid season tweaks and late season surprises planned. They lost DCA twice in that span....one where MBI wasn't far behind them in July and this past years where C2 kept getting closer all season. in 14 Cabs got ###### close because they came out ready early, Bucs just pulled it out at the end. whats that tell you? Both ways can work. But over the last 10 years, one way has worked the best. I often wondered what could happen in MBI or CV got some June reads from the DCA judges. I know DCI guys are giving good feedback, but not as many of them will see them at the end

I really didn’t seem to change anything placement wise come championships. June 27, 2009 Bridgeport, CT 1. Hurricanes 77.525 2. Caballeros 75.900 3. CorpsVets 70.367 4. Gotta be honest here... it's tough to compare the CV from 2006-09 with the current corps. The current corps goes about its business in a different manner. A better organization now than then. Kamarag
Just pointing out that those early reads really did not make any difference other than the feedback from the judges. You have no idea if that's the case. The fact is that corps are what they are. The judging community generally gets the neighborhoods of placements correct in the end (you'd call it predetermined slotting, in all likelihood), regardless of early-season reads. If anything, Atlanta's placements in the early shows only confirm this to be true. We can't know if not being at that shows would have affected their eventual placement one way or another. Even you admit the judges' feedback was probably helpful (something you also can't possibly know, unless you were on staff with Atlanta then). Their design now has them approaching places they've yet to go.
