2022 Drum Corps Associates World Championships Prelims

Recommended Posts

We now “start” the show as the guard changes outfits. One of them can’t get his pants off, so he waddles his way to the front sideline.

John Mayer now giving his classic intro.

More back and forth between brass and percussion, now with the addition of the brass splitting into low and high brass groups.

And some “Show Me The Way To Go Home” in the closer for good Govie measure!

Next on the field is the Skyliners from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania. Their 2022 program is entitled "Slaughter" and consists of:

It’s a little unconventional setup for Sky this season. The front ensemble is in more of a square formation between the 45s, so they’re in three rows of equipment. Behind them, on the front hash, are seven platforms, kind of forming a skyline of their own, while also serving as staging for soloists and sections during the show.

The drum major is in an all white suit (it’s not after Labor Day) with a red shirt, black long tie, and wing tip shoes. Very dapper.

Somebody just played the New York New York fanfare on trumpet. I can’t tell if it was on the field or in the stands.

Bass drums start the show on the stages midfield, followed by the rest of the drum line and the front ensemble.
