New Records set in 2023

I was looking through some stuff yesterday and realized that 3 new placement high scores were set in 2023.

 

Boston's 4th place score is the highest 4th place score at DCI Finals

Cavaliers 8th place score is the highest 8th place score at DCI Finals

Blue Stars 11th place score is the highest 11th place score in DCI Finals

There's usually someone who posts the notable outcomes that are possible during finals week, but I didn't see it this year.

A few that I've thought of...

Colts in back-to-back finals for the first time since 98-99

Troopers in back-to-back finals for the first time since 85-86

Blue Knights avoided being left out of back-to-back finals for the first time since 01-03

Crossmen out of finals back-to-back for the first time since 10-11

Mandarins are the first new corps in the top six since Crown in 2007

BD for the second time in DCI history has back to back unbeaten seasons going a combined 41-0 in 2022-2023. 

Only BDs back to back unbeaten seasons in 2009-2010 when they went a combined 51-0 is better.

The 2023 average finals score across the top four corps was 97.825 which is the highest ever. 
 

2008 held the record at 97.59 before.

I did 43 shows in 1990 ... I'm still calling this a single season of undefeated 😛
