chadjanicek
Madison won't be switching anything reguarding sponsors. Not only will they be playing Yamaha stuff, they will also be using Vic Firth sticks and mallets. madison has been pro-mark for quite a while now, if they are going VF that will be a change of sponsor
SourceTags8Codes
the only problem with them using pro mark stick and mallets is the mallets are very limited to their selection. The reason why their pit uses yamaha, probly beacuse their acoustilon series, the bars tend to be alot louder than adams systhetic bars, i mean i hate to say it but its true

Hulka
Does anyone know the last year Madison did NOT playYamaha? What brand did they use? I think they've been with Yamaha at least 15 years. Madison was the first corps to use Yamaha marching percussion and I believe the first year was 1985 (making 19 years). Prior to using Yamaha the corps played on Ludwig drums. CheezMaster
I know Scouts are using VF because a few weeks ago I got a MDBCA newsletter and sure enough, on the back, it read: Deg/Dynasty, Vic Firth, and either Paiste still or Zildjian. I didn't see anything about Yamaha though.
agdrum33
chances are that theyll play the vic firth hannums. since its not going to be colin's stuff, theres a good chance well see them with the stuff his mentor/colleague endorses. gdisney
OK - I don't know much about percussion. Can someone explain what the difference would be battery wise if their using Pearl or Yamaha?
MikeN
Sound and weight, mainly. More sound than weight. Mike

That was the year they had big holes drilled into the shells, red drum sticks, and matched grip.
