elementwrx
While the corps is doing so well, they don’t have Denver finals as a final destination. When asked if they might consider finals next year, Mark is optimistic but business-like about the proposition: “We’ll see what the finances bring and what membership can do.” I smell another star on our hands....someone finally listened to the lessons of Bill Cook

84BDsop
And I think that;s the first time I've ever seen DCI give any props to the Sr corps!
Guard Diva
.............could have something to do with the fact that the article's author marches with Renegades.

MalletMusic
I smell another star on our hands....someone finally listened to the lessons of Bill Cook I dont get it. Everyone is acting like this is Academy's first year of existence. Academy has been around for FOUR years! Sure this is the first year as an actual drum & bugle corps, but in their first few seasons they did exhibitions as a standstill brass and percussion ensemble, as well as fielded a winterguard/summer guard. Last year they performed in exhibition doing a full show (minus a colorguard) and this year they added in the guard. I dont mean to rain on Academy's parade or seem like i have a case of sour grapes or anything because Academy deserves all the success they will have, but they havent gotten this good overnight. And also if you notice as its been said in many place....the drum and bugle corp, is many parts of a big organization. Arizona Academy of the Performing arts. Theres many things that deal with academy, so the winterguard/summer guard coulda have been for some other reason. So you can't actually go and hack on them and say that they've been building up for a long time. Cause if you do, then you gotta do it to every corp that has a B group and a C group. But in my opinion, I think this is the actual year that academy will be growing, and not any previous years.
