steelcityrabbit
OK, we have seen posts about the best this ever, the best that ever, how about a closer that has never been done before. Now if some show designer steals this idea, just remember where you saw it 1st. ^0^ Maynard Ferguson's version of the Beatles classic "Hey Jude". b**bs I would have the drumline right up front at the podium and let the hornline go into the stands, just like Maynard used to do. b**bs b**bs b**bs

Lance M
Any of Barber's essays for orchestra, or his overture to the school for scandal.
Galen
Crecendo In Blue by Ellington. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes! Would your version include the 10-minute solo by Paul Gonsalves from the '56 Newport jazz fest? My picks: El Gato (Ellington, from Live at the Blue Note). Scouts would have a ball with this. Mvt. 1, Symphony 4 (Bruckner). Yeah, it's the 1st movement, but I think Phantom could still pull it off as a closer. Lance, Crossmen did "School" in '95, as their opener. PRfan353
I'd say off of Andrew Lloyd Webbers opera Requiem - Hosanna, but cut it off after the 'big hit'.
mrshowfan
"I'll be there"- I was listening to this tune the other day, the Mariah Carey version. (not that I'm a huge fan), but it really reminded me of '80 Spirit of Atlanta closer. I know what you're saying "What the ****?" But I think it could work as a power closer if arranged right. mrshowfan
Yeah, I just checked corpsreps. Good call. Bridgemen did play it, so did a couple other corps. I wonder if they all were closers though.
