But this is the first I hear 78 was controversial!

Is, it true, the blue was choosen for a possible "blue Screen" effect when televised meaning, you wouldn't see them, only the rifles?

To me, there has not been another 1978 meaning, 5 corps had legitimate shots. It should have been much closer in the top 5 than it was.

That WAS a good year. The top 4 (SCV, PR, BD, MC) all at one time beat each other. And it wasnt till the last 10 days of the season that SCV and PR stretched out a lead. And after the finals performance there was no clear indication of how things would shake out.

I will say 78 is an interesting year for the ageouts from that year.

First theres me of course B) But that includes Dan Acheson, Jeff Fiedler, George Hopkins, C Burr, Chris Nalls (I think) to name but a few.

Jeff Fiedler didn't age out in '78. It was either '79 or '80 and I think it was '80. He aged out as DM.
