some old corps photos

Recommended Posts

Still. Best. Uniform. Ever.

Amen! I wish someone could dig up and scan the shot of Belleville Black Knights when they were arranged around what looked to be a courtyard or square. That's one of those truly jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring photos. I forget where I saw it. Either my guard instructor, Cheryl Miller, had it, or Joel Alleyne showed it to us. Whomever it was, the photo just blew me away. I couldn't stop staring at it.

How's this for old? A shot of the Freelancers in their earliest days as the George Manhart Post 391 Drum & Bugle Corps in the 1930's. Photo courtesy of Big Mac.

The best thing about this page is the full name of the Troopers at the bottom of the page. Bet you didn't know that one!

Another old one. I think this is 74.

Nice. There's a scan on page 1184 #11839 also. Hope the link works.

Found this same photo elsewhere online; this may be a somewhat better scan:

No, this is a beautiful photo, but the one I'm thinking of was in color, and the corps was arranged literally in a square formation . . . but the shot was taken from a corner, so you got this really beautiful wide-angle view of the entire corps.
