poppyseedbun
Thanks for the update, mo!Does "cram it, Boze" mean anything to ya? b**bs <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No honey it was "cram it clown". And I believe that is urban legend, the story that some obnoxious brat told that to Bozo when he lost at the grand prize game. I remember Ringmaster Ned passing on and Frazier Thomas taking over ringmaster duties. I also remember them having a REAL band and not just a guy playing an electric piano. Ray Rayner also played a clown on Bozo. ###### if I can remember his name. Those guys got some good adult humor in there at times. You had to listen up. ^0^
atrain
Wasn't Ray Rayner, Wizzo the Magician Clown? I know he wasn't Cookie. Edited February 22, 2005 by atrain

uncle z
Pines of Rome, anybody??? Me at my second home, Warhawk stadium, 1982!!
poppyseedbun
It did (and does) have a "homey" feel about it. Hey Z, remember when we used to come around back up that hill behind the stadium to go on the field? And then you had to walk down those two sets of white stairs down to the field? geez, I'm getting kind of weepy here.
poppyseedbun
Also look at those pine trees up on the hill behind the back sidelines? Those were small. They are big MOFO's now. We could barely hide behind them back in the old days.
Eggbert
On behalf of my dear Uncle Z, I present to all the mighty Blue Stars Snare line (except he didn't tell me what year this was!): Looks like 72. The center snare (L of center) is Steve Smith who went on to be the caption head thru 79.
uncle z
I found this on the internet. The title is "north drum band 82" Anybody have a clue who it is?? Those sure look like bugles in the background to me!!!
charleschuchuta
That's 81 Spirit, before they switched back to regular drums the 2nd half of the season.

Steve Smith actually did not join the corps until '75. When he aged out and starting working the line the following years, he kept much of the teaching techniques he learned that year.
