The Imperial Knights from Sudbury, Ont had the pleasure of competing against Les Diplomates only once, I believe in 1970 or 71 in Lindsay Ont. They were an A class corps and we were B class at the time. Once we hit the party, as about half our members spoke french, we had an instant corps fest on equal ground. Any Dip members or other corps on the field that evening remember that contest? Let me know!!! :satisfied:

l asked my sister who was in the Diplomates in 72 and 73 and she only remembered a Murielle who played on snare drums and she was not blonde. B) Anyway, my sister ( even if she was not speaking english) had a great time with all the corps especially Cabs, Sky.

... and what about THOSE TWINS that played tymp? ... magnifique!!!

:-)

Les Dips deserve recognition for several points...

Beautiful women definitely being one of them, but more importantly, their early acceptance of women in all sections of senior corps which spread - Thank God - to all in the activity...

Exciting percussion was a trademark...

they also were a great innovator in visual...

Who was the first corps to figure out how to successfully rotate a large box? Les Dips of course...

I for one am looking forward to the alumni corps...
