WestCoast7
burgers....HAHAHAH thats the funniest thing ive read on here in ages.cbc back on top kids. have to give them credit, there's demand and they perform the tar out of it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow...there's demand? Where? I saw them tonight.... what portion of the show do you find demanding? The constant standing still and turning around? Or is the slow tempo and tiny step size during their chess game? Or could it be their drum solo drill that features the corps standing still in pods while people "speak" the drum parts, rather than play them? It's a shame you find their program demanding while Phantom and Cavaliers are performing demanding, integrated, drill that contains variety and creativity. Cardman
. . .and watch the haters go. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No way Cadets performed a 98.xx tonight. WAY overblown. Their show did little for me (same with Cavies). Too large of a spread between the top 3... Wow...there's demand? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now this guy, TX, is a hater... <**>
bawker
. . .and watch the haters go. :D Yes, and I do believe you, yourself called the Cavaliers "uncreative", didn't you? Pot, meet kettle.
bawker
have to give them credit, there's demand and they perform the tar out of it. Very true. It's an excellent performance, but on a personal level, I still can't get past the narration that's in place. However, I do agree. The demand is certainly there. uselessgoodtaste
I just like how a large portion of the Cadet's show was almost exactly that of Star 93...
Cache_Money
Come finals we could see Phantom taking . . . Percussion from them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow, that would be something. Has Phantom ever won drums? I can't recall it happening.
dmfootworks
I just like how a large portion of the Cadet's show was almost exactly that of Star 93... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Really? I'd be interested in hearing how. Can you provide some examples?
cbrent
I just like how a large portion of the Cadet's show was almost exactly that of Star 93... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You must mean that the music they are playing in the closer is very similar to the music of Star '93, right? And I believe this has happened once or twice before in the history of drum corps. Cary
Long Time Fan
Yeah, I agree. I have seen them 3 times and just don't understand. Unless they are just super clean. How were the Cavaliers tonight? My son said they changed a little more on the ending yesterday, maybe that had something to do with it. Man the technically precise, fast marching, horn moves, and visual effects of the Cavaliers seem so much more visual than Cadets. But I am not a judge so I never know what they are looking for. Maybe the music makes up for it, I don't understand. But don't take me wrong, I am not trying to take anything from the Cadets, I know several of them, but really, a door and 4 girls? To the Cavie Mom, my son aged out as a Cavalier a couple of years ago, so I am biased. However I have to say that the Cavaliers had a very flat show last night. Too many mistakes and bobbles. Jeff will take care of that. But it was clear that it affected how both the audience and judges received it. The Cadets have a show with challenge and style. They performed the heck out of it last night. It is not being well received, but it is hard for me not to appreciate its difficulty and execution. They will be hard to catch, and deservedly so. Phantom is a pure delight. The program oozes with GE. It has the right level of difficulty. But I can't see them catching the Cadets. They can pass the Cavaliers, if the Cavaliers can't improve on their tentative performance.
DCIFanOfAllDivisions
let me just say for those of you who haven't seen the Cadets LIVE (and not in a theater... but on the 50 yard line up high) the uniforms work perfectly (i would have never thought so at the beginning of the season but they definitelly pulled it off)
