Definitely Phantom Regiment, with a very close second to the Bluecoats.

Phantom Regiment was simply incredible - first using what can best be described as "overused' music (I mean I even played it in drum corps way back in 1985) and making it absolutely incredible to listen to...

AND THEN...that stunning color guard. To me they represented EVERYTHING that a guard should be in a show and then some. The work, the color palette, the moods and the costume changes. Everything served to enhance the MUSICAL PRODUCTION - which sometimes gets lost in guard shows today.

A close second is the Bluecoats - wow, what a show. They definately have come into their own over the last few years and their 2005 production was nothing short of breathtaking.

And rounding out my top three (okay four) are Crown and Cadets - two corps that took chances in design and left me awed. Crown with its subtle programming choices and Cadets for being in left field (and that's where I love them).

Later,

Mike

Was impressed with Cadets, Cavies could have been cleaner, Coats are just killing me, Crown was beautiful.

But there is NO contest.

Phantom Regiment...hands down...no equal. (IMHO)

:blink::blink::blink::worthy:

1) Phantom (they should've won IMHO) (and apparently the crowds too) :blink: and a very close second possibly tied

2)SCV...wow, I could listen to that show all day long. :blink::worthy:

3) Crown (smoking on semi finals)

4) Bluecoats-minus the drum speak (it would've worked so well without it).

5) Spirit great execution and arrangements...

I loved Colts, Crossmen, Capitol Regiment too..so those are my favorites...

wadda mannuuvvaaa! I pick Cadets for their amazing show. I know its a great show when i really have trouble picking a favorite part. The opener is some of the best original music to hit a field so far, the ballad...well that speaks for itself, and i love the new take on Medea....so cool!

Musically, SCV comes pretty close as well...i am convinced that anything Shostakovich has ever written should be put on the field by either PR or SCV!

No surprises here, but Phantom tops my list, followed closely by Crown, then Cadets. All 3 were amazing in very different ways.
