Toby
...when asked about a piece of music, you're able to name the composer and the corps with year....you hear a piece of music and name the corps that should play it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> guilty as charged
Toby
When you hear random music #### near anywhere and can name the corps that played it and the year....then duck because your wife's in the process of slapping you...again (another true stotry!) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> some public radio station in IL played some Astor Piazolla when I was on my way back from Nashville...corps, place, high points, critique compared to Phantom....dad thought I was on crack... ColtsMello
when you are dreading the fact that you have no internet all summer and then you come home and read stuff like this and realize that youd rather be back on tour than have internet anyday
BluePit2K5
I didn't go through them all, but the big one I have is everytime I see a tour bus I think, who is on that bus? Which corps was that. And I thought I saw a phantom tour bus on my way home from finals this year in michigan but who knows. I might have been hallucinating!!!!!!! GuyW
You come out of retirement to march Alumni Corps...
jonnyboy
When you hear a factory/air conditioner/mechanical anything and think in might be a drumline warming up in the distance..... When you play your drumset and hear a whole drumline in your head.... When you "drum speak" a drum score to the songs on the radio or in movies..... When you see a cute girl and think "she would make a great seat partner"...... When you walk accross the kitchen, take one look at the TV and back up on your toes to the refrigerator....and then roll step down the hall and crab over to the couch and think "I still got it".... 84BDsop
When you show your new fencing students an Mpg of SCV's drum line off the Vic Firth site as an example of what you can do if you don;t have a death grip on your equipment....yet another true story... cwboldt
Motor Coaches at idle... Diesel fumes on a humid summer night Large open fields-- I think, that could be lined in a few minutes... The fact that my DCI CD collection outstrips any other section / group And my DCI DVD selection outnumbers any other collection I have The fact that I bought a G Baritone bugle to 'save it' for when corps regain their senses and go back to them! The fact that I show DCI shows to my dates and watch their reactions to see if we will be compatible (100% true) Seeing pro stadiums on TV and instantly remembering their fields Seeing bad high school marching bands with crappy horn angles, and wanting to volunteer to help them Asking my community band director if he wants "air attacks" on some of the entrances. KevinSop85
Out of a dead sleep, I snapped my horn up at a dress and was sweating. Same thing happened with going to attention...again, in a cold sweat. I agree about the diesel fumes and stadiums. I also look at truck stops and try to remember if I had been there or if I should have been there...there are some amazing truck stops in Ohio b**bs
Leland
When you've been a low brass player from the beginning, never "formally" learning another instrument, yet can convincingly fake your way through the March in the Holst band suite on snare drum in a community band rehearsal. I'll think of more, I'm sure...
