I know that Dutch Boy was the highest scoring 13th place corps ever. In 1988 we scored an 86.4 at semis. We were also 13th - 3 times - 1988, 1989 and 1991. I'm not sure if any other corps placed 13th more times than Dutch Boy.

Though they never finished 13th so many times in such a short timespan, the Blue Knights from Denver, CO have finished 13th on four separate occasions ('90, '95, '02, and '03). That might be a DCI record?

I just voted for them, and I thought they came in 14th not 13th......1977 Kingsmen. Really good show, and a solid performance from a young group. Two years prior they did not even field a corps, then 19th in 1976 and almost made finals in 1977.

Did DeLasalle Oaklands come in 13th when they won drums in prelims but didn't make finals? Is that the corps I'm thinking of, or am I thinking of another corps?

I THINK, they placed 4th or 5th in 1974 !!!! b**bs

As for placing 13th, I doubt it !!! :worthy:

You're thinking of 1977 Etobicoke Oakland Crusaders, which was a merger between De La Salle Oaklands and Etobicoke Crusaders.

The 1977 Kingsmen finished 14th. That was also the year the Bridgmen were disqualified after the season and forced to vacate their 4th place finish. If the Bridgemen had been disqualified prior to championships

as DCI wanted, the Kingsmen would have finished 13th.

And as for the topic, my vote goes to the Colts

According to corpsreps.com they're showing Brigdemen at 3rd but of course they were DQ'd. Kingsmen were only 14th also do to a 12 place tie between Garfield and Kilties. I still like to think of it as 13th since 12th was taken up by two corps and Kingsmen were next in line.

No wait.....that's prelims i'm looking at.

Just thinking out loud....don't mind me,heh.

1980 BLUE STARS !!!!!!!!

I think it was North Star that made 12th (or whomever) and they were almost completely packed up for the trip home when they got told they were in.

LaCrosse had a great show that year, but it didn't come on until really late.

One of DCI's better shaft jobs.
