festive
I remember Regiment first pulling it out back in 1993, maybe 1992 (can't recall right now). I don't know if it had been done by a corps before then. I thought we read it in 1991, but actually, now that I think about it, we may have read it at audition camp for the 1992 season. Yeah...I think that's it. I forgot that I auditioned for '92. Heh. :P Edited November 30, 2005 by festive

Danhobl
Another version, instrumental.http://www.nikknakks.net/Music/Marching/04-006.html Recognize the link?! This version is awesome! It's nice to hear a "marching band" version. If Phantom does play this, they are going to have people crying in the stands come finals night! Tsar Nikk
This version is awesome! It's nice to hear a "marching band" version. If Phantom does play this, they are going to have people crying in the stands come finals night! Why thank you. That version was recorded by the Florida State University Marching Chiefs for their 1998 CD, during one of the years that John Baker was the interim director. He asked me to arrange it for the Chiefs, so I fiddled with it a bit and they liked it so much they recorded it on their year-end CD. Sadly, John passed away a few years ago. The new arrangement of it is dedicated to him.
Phansouth
Good work, Nikk! Was that the WHOLE monstrous hornline or jsut a select group?
Tsar Nikk
Good work, Nikk! Was that the WHOLE monstrous hornline or jsut a select group? That was everyone. I think it's a tribute to John that the Chiefs respected him enough to "rein" in their sound on that piece. I understand that this recording was played when they gathered together after his funeral. He was such a good guy, and died in the prime of his career, it really was a shame.
