  1. I love Crown....always have....but i think they are still a year or two away from a championship level performance...They have highly entertaining shows but the difficulty level is not matching what the cavies and BD's are performing. And thats usually why these two corps take the cake. And drums have always been a factor for Crown...even though they are much cleaner than past years...either way I love what Crown is doing and I hope they continue to improve
  2. Im not goin to necessary agree/disagree with whats been said...ive always enjoyed crown's shows...one thing that is very obvious is the fact that each year since their flop in 02' they have consistently improved year in and year out...what more can you ask for. now i havent seen all of the show this year but by listening to it I can hear a much much cleaner drumline...their drum scores were below par to say the least last year...year in and year out they improve...
  3. I live in a little town in South Carolina with a population thats less than 6000....so trust me...ive seen the south's finest at times....Im probably the only person in my town that even knows what drum corps is....haha. Either way....joke was funny...and yes the rumor that Crown is using banjos next year is true....haha
  4. ha.....ha.....ha.....you guys think everyone from the south looks like that dont you? .... pretty #### close :-)
  5. I find it humorous how 2 years ago Crown was by far one of the most bashed corps around....one year without vocals and their fanbase triples. Dont get me wrong I love the fact that more fans enjoy their shows now than before...and with that said they have improved a vast amount since then. I just havent been on DCP much this year and I sign in today to see a much different overall outlook on the corps. Just as much Cadets bashing goin on though...doubt that'll ever change... Crown keep rolling!
  6. wow its weird seeing Crown mixing up the usually typical top 5....lets see if they can continue at the same pace....should make finals interesting
  7. Congrats to Crown...looks like this will be the first year since 01' that i wont attend a show but I will say that they have improved year by year and Im glad to see it starting to pay off.
  8. I was in Atlanta this past weekend and i figured the only reason they got such a loud ovation was because the were the closest to home corps but i guess i was wrong. I loved the show. I always like there shows. They seem to keep getting better and better each year. They have a great staff and i'm waiting for that break out season. They are def. heading in the right direction. Best of luck come finals! :)
  9. Ok i'm a cadets fan but if a show is crap i'll admit it... With that said this one isn't. I hate the narration for the third straight year but this years hornline is amazing. hands down the loudest out there. Great show. Crowd enjoys it. end of story. Just sit back and let them do what the do best folks.
  10. I don't have the exact numbers but I was at Atlanta the past 2 years and both brought out pretty impressive attendance numbers. I'm not sure if the crowd was as big as last years but it wasn't as loud and i had the same seats both years besides being on the opposite side of the field. Either way i hope atlanta is here to stay. I enjoyed both years attending and i'll be back for a third and so forth.
  11. did madison have alot of age outs or lose some staff or something??? someone inform me on why they've been scoring so low...
  12. Ok i'm sitting at my hotel in Atlanta waiting until 7 oclock because my girlfriend said she can't sit through that many shows. So I've gotta sit around until 7 oclock when i could be watching Drum Corps....tell me that doesn't suck....at least the high speed internet works here.
  13. I think Cadets 99' was one of the best closers put on the field so for me that last 2 minutes is up there on my list. others... Phantom 03' closer SCV 02' Opening minutes Cavaliers 98' opener there are so many....
  14. I was right on the 50 about 15 rows from the top. i could see everything perfectly, but ALOT of stuff was drowned out musically... Overall it was worth the money and the trip...i'll be there again this year and i anyone would enjoy the show...
  15. I love BD's 04...and that show was my favorite all throughout the season...i thought it was the show that deserved gold...until I saw the Cavies finals performance...wow...that closer was insane...that alone gave them the boost they needed to edge BD's
  16. just figured i'd throw another lame poll in the mix of December boredom.... My personal favorite would have to be Cavaliers 2003...this show was probably my favorite Cavies show of the 2000's...it had it all b**bs Phantom 06' was a close 2nd though :)
  17. Cadets 1999 Phantom 2000 Both were amazing shows....just didn't get kicking until too late in the season...that seems to be a trend w/ the boys and girls from Rockford
  18. 1. Opening hit of Cadets 00' 2. Cadets 99' Closer(chills thinking about it) 3. SCV 89' closer 4. Phantom 03' Closer 5. Cavies 95'- the whole freaking show!
  19. Crown Brassline > Madison Brassline ....Its a first....but yes....its official
  20. I think the whole point of this thread is a misunderstanding....scratch it!
  21. I will say this....Blue Knight's shows are always boring at first....and usually stay that way....but maybe this one will grow on me....
  22. It's not all that bad....some of the not so loud corps were alittle harder to hear obviously...but once you got to the shows that were pretty clean it was ok....and besides...if the competition last night wasn't in a dome it wouldn't have happened...so for me it was worth it!
  23. do you think they'll return to Atlanta??? Otherwise it looks like I'm heading to Tennessee...
  24. I'm a fan of the Cadets....but thats not the point of this debate.....the show has improved a great deal....end of story
