whystarwhy
You're all forgetting the 2003 Div 2 champs - Esperanza - they had an awesome year, went head to head against the Patriots all year, and somehow edged them out show after show. And only in their 4th year of existence at the time!Go E! I'm not forgetting because they weren't in my pick. Yes, 2003 was the year for dirty corps. Just because you win, doesn't mean you're incredible...simply better than the rest. Don't get me wrong, the turn to front field and horn pop secured in my mind that they were the champions, however. No other corps seemed to have that drive. Just not my fav show. head to head? Esperanza came out on top every time. Don't forget, the top 3 by prelims were each seperated by .3 Semis show rained out = good for some corps, bad for others (man, Spartans have had a hard time with rain, eh? 2003/2004 come to mind)
ROO
Oh, and my list (not following the Classic Countdown rules since the rules have been so different with A/A-60/II/III/Cadet/All-Girl)(and I know it's not 12) 1990 Academie Musicale 1990 Ventures 1991 Crown 1992 Northern Aurora 1992 Southwind 1992 Spartans 1993 L'insolite 1993 Mandarins 1993 Railmen 1994 Nite Express 1994 Cardinals 1995 Kiwanis Kavaliers 1995 Delta Brigade 1996 Les Etoiles 1999 Patriots 1999 Blue Stars 1999 Seattle Cascades 1999 Phantom Legion Incredible list!!! You definitely know your II/III. I'm really impressed with you selecting Cardinals '94- That was an amazing show. I don't know that I'd take anything away from your list, but I would add Academie 1995 and Kiwanis 1992.
WWonka
Oh, and my list (not following the Classic Countdown rules since the rules have been so different with A/A-60/II/III/Cadet/All-Girl)(and I know it's not 12) 1990 Academie Musicale 1990 Ventures 1991 Crown 1992 Northern Aurora 1992 Southwind 1992 Spartans 1993 L'insolite 1993 Mandarins 1993 Railmen 1994 Nite Express 1994 Cardinals 1995 Kiwanis Kavaliers 1995 Delta Brigade 1996 Les Etoiles 1999 Patriots 1999 Blue Stars 1999 Seattle Cascades 1999 Phantom Legion I agree with Chris on a lot of these.. There were a lot of years you could have put Ventures, L'insolite and Academie Musicale in there. They were some great Canadian A corps before they all folded. If you wanna go way back and I am kinda biased but I would include: 1988 Black Gold - High Visual, High Percussion, High Guard but finished 4th overall. And there were a lot of years you could list Railmen. It's so hard to come up with and remember all the A, A-60 classics cause all most all the greats from the earlier periods have folded. :(

Choppa
If there was a div 2/3 classic count down, who would you choose for your top 12? Decade doesn't matter. I think the East Coast Jazz finals performance in Denver 2004.
oc1
99 Scades??? Seriously Chris?? Thanks. We had fun that summer. I'd have to say I'd like to see just a couple: Black Watch (Auburn, WA) 1978 (Campions that season) Cascades 96 and 99 (I was in both of these, fun shows) Cascades 01 Oregon Crusaders 04 Nite Express 94 Mandarins (almost any year, strong DL's) Capital Regiment 99 (loved that 4 man bass line that year) Kiwanis Kavaliers 96. (Classic uni's, strong corps) Academy - any of the last few years!!! Shawn
oldguard
Oh, and my list (not following the Classic Countdown rules since the rules have been so different with A/A-60/II/III/Cadet/All-Girl) Although I agree about the changes in the rules, I decided to keep to the 2/4/4/2 decade format for historical perspective, the "then and now effect," and because I would really like to see some of these shows one more time. Incredible list!!! You definitely know your II/III. I'm really impressed with you selecting Cardinals '94- That was an amazing show!I don't know that I'd take anything away from your list, but I would add Academie 1995 and Kiwanis 1992. I had the Academie Musicale '95 show on my original list before I edited for the decade format. It was tough to exclude this gem and it was hard to leave off Kiwanis ... and Americanos, Cardinals, Pioneer ... It's so hard to come up with and remember all the A, A-60 classics cause all most all the greats from the earlier periods have folded. :( ... and L'Insolite, Black Gold and Railmen ... ... and Sancians, Northern Aurora, Nite Express ... ... and so many, many others that are a part of our drum corps heritage... ... and East Coast Jazz '98, SCV Cadets '00, Jersey Surf '00, Yamato '98, ... and Taipei Yuehefu '05, Raiders '05 ... ... and ... I could go on forever and still leave a memorable one out ... all classics in their own right. Then, of course, there are the shows I wish I had seen live, like Oregon Crusaders '04, Teal Sound '04, Spartans '04, Academy '05 ... I will just have to make sure I am there in the future so I don't miss a classic in the making. See you this summer, I am just a member of the old guard.
