The Oz
the vis staff, guy and the bass line were busy plaining the master plan 1 . steel underpants 2. ???? 3. Profit we are teaming up with racine area lawn gnomes for help and guidence in this plan Steel underpants and bass drums … reminds me of a story from the olden days. A guy named Eddie Zacken was one of two rudimental bass players in the mid 60s. (“Rudimental” bass = bass drum played with two beaters, usually wooden. Remember, bass drums of the day were the “Scotch” bass drums, generally narrow, large diameter drums tuned to a real bass note and played with a single beater. The rudimental bass was generally wider, smaller in diameter, tuned higher, and the parts included single sevens and drags.) Eddie was milling around before a parade with the drum strapped on and failed to notice a fire hydrant. A few seconds later he earned his nickname of “Numbnuts”. He could have used a pair of steel underpants. Edited May 25, 2006 by The Oz
