Studio Tan
Though it's not nearly as severe and stupid as what Cuban did, in drum corps terms what you've described is reminiscent of the David St. Angel/Phantom Regiment incident at 1992 DCI Finals. Please fill me in on this. Please.
rut-roh
Please fill me in on this. Please. An obscene gesture. In plain view in the middle of the field during retreat as the scores were being announced, including being in view of the television cameras for the live broadcast. An unfortunate incident. And by all accounts, a very classy individual who just let the moment get to him. Edited July 12, 2006 by rut-roh
Studio Tan
Intense stuff. How did they finish overall? I mean, come on, that '92 Cavies show is very good. No shame in finishing second to that.

He was director of Phantom Regiment who dropped from 6th in semis to 8th in finals.
3rd_Star_Brigade
Hopkins is just doing this for attention. There is no reason why the private dealing of The Cadets or YEA! need to be publically announced on a blog for the entire Drum Corps community to read. He has hinted at conflicts with other staff members on his blog. Honestly! Why the #### do you want to advertise fights between staff members and even his thoughts about resigning from YEA!. If you are thinking about resigning that badly that you have to make a scene out of it, then perhaps your time to leave has come. Personally, I could see Marc Sylvester as Director of The Cadets or YEA!, but that's a different subject.

Sully is a genius at visual design, but being a corps director is a totally different ballgame.
DCImonkey
Careful what you wish for! If Marc Sylvester becomes director of YEA! and we'll have more hippie, LSD trippy shows to feast on and then the fans will really go nuts. Who do you think is the brainchild of the last 2 shows? :P

Maybe Hoppy should set his LiveJournal to Friends Only, so that we can't read it! g~unit~! Mood: confused!! skluyuk
Bad form indeed. Very unprofessional. <**> He definitely singles out the individual judges. If they have a problem with what you are doing on the field, pay attention to their critique tapes and make adjustments that will change their minds. Don't go off complaining about the judges on your blog. I would understand a blog that expresses disappointment with the scores you are receiving, but don't hack the judges. They are trying their best to apply the same criteria to all competitors.
