skajerk
I was impressed with Gold. Pretty good for just coming out. Their director is a Dons/Suncoast Sound alum and pretty nice guy. Hopefully they'll take their time and keep at it slow and steady so as to keep the growth of CA drum corps strong. And to those BDC parents directly in front of me and directly behind me that chose to talk on their cell phones during Fever's performance. Thanks. <**>
skluyuk
SCVC is closing that gap a bit. I enjoyed their show and it looks like they are cleaning it up nicely. Good luck at Finals.
kylemillerkid
It was Gold's last show of the season. They did a fantastic job. They are planning on attending finals next year since DCI will be in CA. Here's hoping that they are able to build on the success they had this season. As of right now, the tour fees are extremely low for this corps (~$100) to allow all to participate (even those who have never played an instrument or spun a piece of equipment ever). The tour fee would have had to be much much higher for the corps to go to DCI.
randomnoise
Apparantly sousas are not illegal or they would have been penalized at other shows too. I looked at the recap from another show they were at and there was no penalty. Sousaphones are specifically mentioned in the rule book as being illegal. A more likely explanantion is that there was no T&P judge at the earlier shows you mention. I know we almost never see T&P judges at California shows. kimelabari
Although I was out of the country for the Sunnyvale show - I have heard a lot of feedback that BDB was on that night and SCVC is coming right along. I am looking forward to the Modesto show as well as DCI. Hey Randy - I know it is annoying when people talk on the phone during shows....but just remember who we use to march with and how rude they can be in the stands and on the field at retreat....sometimes we just have to endure the childish behavior around us and just enjoy the show despite how they behave. It is hard when adults are worse than the kids. Go Div II corps Kimela
