Zeke
'91 Crossmen.... ROCKS It was my rook Summer that year with the Marauders..and the night of my Bday. I came back into the Stadium that night..and Saw Xmen for the first time live. Was that SWEEET...that rocking drumline was playing some major tastey beats...and that Hornline was on Fire. It was just too good. Edited August 17, 2006 by Zeke
kncooter
I can't decide between '88 '91 '92, it's too hard :sshh: I'm going to make it easier for myself and pick the best corps that i saw live: Regiment 99 Regiment contra's were awesome that year. I remember the show had a sort of underlying quality to it when watching it live. Add in the pit and the brassline performing some of the most gorgeous backfield playing and you have a wonderful show. The one thing i would of changed to the show was the uniform. The all black uniform was to dark and the show needed a lighter side to it, maybe a white tunic similar to PR's late 70's uniform would of done the trick. Hey thanks for the love. Not many people enjoyed the years that I marched Regiment. I was in that contra line in 1999 and 98 for that matter. Out of the 14 contras we had 13 vets and a rookie that had marched in II/III for like 3 years previously. I think when we added it up we had something like 70 years of marching experience for something like that. B) The show itself was all down to design. The talent was there (maybe not championship caliber but definitely top 6 in my opinion) but it seemed like we were playing an old school show as far as music and design. Compare us to SCV! Lots of changes no cleaning. As far as my pick, I think it would be PR

As far as my pick, I think it would be PR 92 Having all of those vets definitely shined through in Madison. you were probably the strongest section in the corps that year. I agree with your old school comment, imo the one major difference with PR to the top 4 that year with regards to show design was the pace and tempos were a lot slower. How much difference that makes i'm not to sure, but i've thought for awhile that it allows the corps to maximise the amount of GE they can achieve within a quicker time frame. aslong as the GE is of a certain standard mind you. Why make a 1 minute TV advert when you can make the same advert, with the same impact in half the time. I'm starting to think out loud now. i'll go....... johnweldy
1989 - 08 - 90.300 - BluecoatsI really like the unifroms that year. With you there...I'm sure I will be ridiculed, but I miss the powder blue.

How much difference that makes i'm not to sure, Not sure it makes much difference, myself, as long as the excellence is there. Look at PR 96...not exactly the fastest-moving production ever put on the field, but sheer beauty.

Superb arrangement and a great deep dark sound especially at the end
