Jimbalaya
Chickie......great list, but we'll haveta remove the Royal Airs since they went inactive this year and the Crossmen Alumni have not organized as a corps. The first attempt did not succeed, but they are attempting to gain members. Also, Melrose is not an alumni corps neither are Hanover, Lambertville or the Blue Eagles. Don't forget to add the Vagabonds Alumni. In no particular order: 1. Reading Buccaneers - Reading Pennsylvania 2. Yankee Rebels - Baltimore, Maryland 3. Westshoremen - Harrisburg, Pa. 4. Sweendoc
To my Erie buddies, thanks, you guys are right! The average age of the corps is 47. Not too old, but in a few years who knows! It's official, the corps is open to anyone!
JimF-LowBari
Also, Melrose is not an alumni corps neither are Hanover, Lambertville or the Blue Eagles. Don't forget to add the Vagabonds Alumni. Actually Hanover started as an "Alumni only" group a few years after the competative corps went under. Somewhere along the line they decided to field a corps again and open up the ranks to non-Alumni. I'm not sure when exactly either one happened. To be more precise we're a non-competative, parade and stand still corps with a mix of Alumni and non-Alumni. The more I read, sounds like most "Alumni corps" are the same way. See we still have "Alumni" on our home page but I've noticed that Alumni word gets dropped a lot when we are announced.

Vagabond Skyliner
To be more precise we're a non-competative, parade and stand still corps with a mix of Alumni and non-Alumni. JimF You are right. many of the Alumni Corps are made up of people that marched in other Corps. With a lot of the Corps. the goal is to play homage to a Corps that was. Others are as you say Parade, Standstill, Concert types that just stop competeing. I think the term Alumni has just been expanded to take in many different things. Mostly of the Old Style way of things. "Non Field Competing Corps" would be a mouth full to use all the time. But in any case. I think it better to be more Inclusive than Exclusive. JimF-LowBari
I've been starting to use the term "Non-Competative" in notes I keep on the "Alumni" world. Just like you said Hanover has a mix of ex-Lancers (competative), Westshoremen, Rockets, White Knights (Jr), Chocolatiers, York White Roses, Bolling Field AFB and a bunch I'm sure I missed. We also take in people who never marched a corps but want to play. Lancers never were that famous or successful like Sky or Cabs so the corps (IMO) has that close knit small town feel to it. Tongue in cheek I call the corps "the town band that happens to be a Drum Corps" but I mean it in a good way.
Jimbalaya
Sorry about the mis-application Jim. I guess you ARE an alumni corps if you say you are, eh? But only when you drink Victory!!!! larrycallaghan
The Kawartha Kavaliers Senior Drum & bugle Corps, Lindsay Ontario, is active and going strong. We will be celebrating our 50th continuous year of perfoming in 2007. We have done it all, almost. We have competed, Ontario & Canadian Senior B Champions 1967, RCA in 72 & 73. And parades, concerts & field exhibitions since then. Other non-competing, Canadian corps currently active: Hamilton Firefighters 2nd Signals, Toronto Cheers
