Achilles
Hmmm....Devil Went Down to Georgia? Oh naw, way to fast for drum corps. Probably bluegrass anyway. Let It Be Me? I Can't Help Falling in Love With You?...naw, Elvis would never go over. Ol' Man River? OK nevermind that's blues, won't work. Sweet Georgia Brown? - still not country, doesn't apply. Yeah country, that'll never work, bunch of slack-jawed yokels whinin' and catterwallin' and twangin' them steel guitars... Periphery
Both kinds: Country AND Western! (sorry)
KeithHall
I'm not sure if someone has ever tackled a country music show. For some reason I think it would be cool; especially, now that I am older and have a much broader appreciation for music than when I was a teenager. What music do you think might make a wicked cool and entertaining show.I say: A little Johnny Cash Some Truck Driving Man Some Dueling Percussion Sprinkle a little Jerry Reed in there With some Willie Nelson That's just me though. NONE!!!
jondgrant
Both kinds:Country AND Western! (sorry) I love it johnny cash's "been everywhere" may be good for a few measures but could not go for ever since it is repeditive. maybe a drum break. "Uncle Pen" Ricky Scaggs, would be fun. "Down to the River to Pray" would be good for a slow intro or a choral
jondgrant
It would also be cool if the Pit could do some "Jug Band" licks.
morganhill
Country music played by a drum corps? Is this someone's idea of joke? Ugh!

Just Another Sop
Here is the best you could ever do.... The theme from Green Acres. OK...I am going to go throw up now. "country music" is an oxymoron.
jbabymusic
Corpsvets played "She's no lady, She's my wife" a few years back....a Lyle Lovett tune. I personally thought it went over pretty well. As in all things, if it works, then it works, and it is my opinion that if you make a blanket statement like, "like rap music, none of it" then that is a close-minded statement. Always remain open to new possibilities.
