I can even recall a John Adams quote, basically saying that it would be great if we could just temporarily retire all of Beethoven's symphonies from Symphony Orchestra programs. John Adams is a brilliant man. And 10000% correct.... There's a reason I don't go to opera and symphony concerts.... BORING. Same music EVERY season... Play something NEW and I'll come. BTW, I have tix to Philip Glass this weekend. Awesome. Back on topic... Ride comes to mind, as well as blue shades, firebird, malaguena/malaga, etc. copland and bernstein stuff...
