If the Internet had been around "back in the day"

Recommended Posts

OK, amps, vocals, finances, corps folding are the topics today that generate a lot of heat and posts. Pick some events from DCs past that would have kicked off the flames and filled up the servers with posts.......
"Waddya-mean they're doing away with pre-inspecting the corps? That'll be the beginning of the end of drum corps as we know it!"

How ironic the statement would have been, seeing that for better or for worse, it pretty much did come to fruition 40 some-odd years later!

Another possible Internet discussion, from back in the day:

"I can't believe drum corps is moving away from using the 'tick' system and going with a subjective-judging system. I mean, come on...... under the 'tick' system, judges NEVER show any bias!!!!" LOL

What is with all this grounding of some percussion equipment...... or "the Pit" as it's being called.

I mean.... what is the problem with four people carrying huge tympani around the field?

Fran

If ya can't carry it, ya can't play it!

Who ever heard of using a B flat trumpet in a Drum & BUGLE Corps??

"Vanguard won guard ?? How ? They used hula-hoops and bedposts"

"Lancers arent playing Danny Boy " ??

The Blue Devils are wearing PANTS ?????

Two-Seven are changing their rifle-line uniforms ???

Pick some events from DCs past that would have kicked off the flames and filled up the servers with posts.......

"Did you see those drums Bobby Hoffman is carrying for Hawthorne this year? They can't use drums like that, can they?"

"How can Sky be allowed to just wander around the field like that at the end of 'Little Old New York?' Where's the marching execution? They oughta get a penalty for that!" (I'm pretty sure I heard that in the stands in 1972. Ironic twist: Bobby Hoffman was Sky drill instructor in '72! The man was always a trend setter.)
