It's not so much the weight as the balance.

Contras are the heaviest in the line, but back in the day the King K-80 euoh was a beast on spines...quite bell-heavy

Even worse were the Dynasty baris and euphs when they hadn;t figured out that placing the valves farther away makes for a VERY tough horn to carry I(look at 83 Garfield...there are a mix of valve placements on their horns)

SOoooooooo glad I play soprano!

i would have to say... the king euph is super heavy haha. and thats from experience.

Its not really about weight , its about the way its distributed. They dynastys feel heavier because the weight isint so evenly distributed. But the king euph is a beast .

with the king euphonium the weight is more towards the bell, but the king baritone is equal....well thats from what ive felt

It might also have to do with the fact that the Euph is longer.

But that's just how I look at it.

and yeah- my vote would also be for the yamaha trumpets-

back in 19-ot-4 those suckers were at least a good 35 lbs dry... in the snow... uphill both ways... or so i hear...

Hmm. In 92 the contras measured the contra mouthpiece vs a soprano w/o mouthpiece. Same weight. Sopranos/trumpets shouldn't even be mentioned here. Ever. Even in jest.
