Galen
Happy new year DCP and happy new season! Today is opening day for our 17th season of competition. Directors and corps have been putting the finishing touches on their programs and warming up the busses, and the patentend DCPI Weather Modification Grid will be in full effect after last night's snowfall to ensure optimum performing conditions for our corps. Today features three events in the east, midwest and southern part of the country. However, this season will not have any touring restrictions so there are sure to be some interesting matchups. Gettysburg PA was once the sight of the most famous battle of the Civil War, and today that battleground will be bursting at the seams as more than 20 corps venture to Shirk Stadium. In the midwest, Menomonie WI's Williams Stadium makes a long-overdue return to the calendar as this northwest Wisconsin venue again opens its gates to competition. And deep in the heart of TX, Round Rock's Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex hosts a rare early-season event for both southern and western-based corps. Galen
After a brief delay due do some unforeseen issues with the spreadsheet software, scores are up! Thanks for everybody's patience and congrats to our first day's winners. Today's shows are also the first Sweepstakes events of the season. We use these events to keep a running total for the "Most Consistent Corps" in each division, which is a separate award given out at the end of the season. Southern corps move to "Big D" for a big event at UT-Arlington's Maverick Stadium: The cavalcade of eastern corps moves to Chocolate City USA to compete at Hersheypark Stadium: And Midwest corps head to the land of frost and snow in Stillwater MN for their contest at Stillwater HS:
hostrauser
Not the best start to the season, but our eyes are already on Montreal. The path we take to get there is irrelevant.
CitBos
As in normal fashion for both corps, the members, instructional & support staffs, and BoD of Feenicks and INT don't care what scores and placements they get in shows. All they care about is entertaining the crowd- which they did! Although both corps didn't score or place very high, both corps got a standing-o from the audience. As director, I am very pleased by both performances. And as usual, both corps will be fighting our way to a higher rank come finals. EDIT- forgot a word. TubaJon
The folks over at BREATHE DAH are all very pleased with the opening results. All three corps place a respectable 4th place. A huge accomplishment for The Sinfonians as well as Blades of BLUE as they make themselves relavant in their first season! As well as a huge improvement for The Cincinnati Light Brigade after finishing in the back of the pack all last season, as well as the first show. The staff and members are certainly gelling together, and while there are many kinks and improvements that are needed, its all eyes forward for BREATHE DAH!!!!! Galen
Scores for our first Sweepstakes event are now posted. There was a slight glitch with the Stillwater event- for some reason the recap is displaying some scores from an event from a prior season along with this event's results. The actual data from this season, however, was not altered or affected so I'm not going to worry about it for now. For the record, the official World Class results from Stillwater are: 1: Star of Jupiter 73.905 2: Minnesota Aurora 73.745 3: Polaris Regiment 73.
