  1. Absolutely. Its all experience, time horizon, and so forth, no question about it. I can certainly appreciate why the single year of performing " Niagra Falls" would be considered iconic to some newer fans, but iconic to another person would be the same Corps.. at at different time frame,... utillizing some compo of " Somewhere/ I'm Always Chasing Rainbows " no less than17 YEARS ( perhaps more ) in competiitive competition. Its all experience, time horizon, and so forth, as mentioned.

  2. Despite the fact that it is my favorite song in drum corps, I have it on good authority that DCA has stated the next corps to play it is out.

  3. I like that C2 is playing stuff out of the "greatest hits" bucket. Heck, we have whole alumni corps appearing at DCA shows that do nothing but old stuff, so why can't a competitive corps play some updated arrangements of the parent corps' classics? C2 has done more to bring new and younger fans to DCA in the last two years than every other corps, the over all association, and it's legacy fans have...combined. Doubled. Times by 10. It seems to me they should do whatever they want...

  4. You obviously weren't in Annapolis for DCA Championships last summer. If you had been, you wouldn't have made such a blatantly absurd statement.

  7. Always a lot of information on the big name corps, here's some on one that would probably be missed. Receive email from a couple of non-competing (aka Alumni type) corps and have gotten info concerning this corps. It's a youth group in the Philippines which recently bought some 2v Gs from one of the corps I get info from (no name without their permission). Will say the seller takes some pride in selling to this group. Corps organized not quite a year ago and IMO more power to them. Mission statement in part is: "The VIRGEN SOLEDAD DE PORTA VAGA "VSPV" 29th Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, established from Cavite City. A non-profit educational organization composed of youth and adult members who are dedicated in learning the art of music with in the style of Drum and Bugle Corps. Our main objective is to promote, educate, encourage, and inculcate the basic and advance technique of learn...ing musical proficiency and marching cadence, we base it on the strict guidelines of the Scout Drum and Bugle Corps. Our main goal is to provide excellent instruction, refine hidden talents, and to give opportunities to our members to demonstrate their learning experiences in parades and exhibition performances and division competitions." Also some pics and vids (via YouTube) which I haven't seen yet. Facebook link is: https://www.facebook.com/pages/VSPV-29TH-Regiment-DBC-Cavite-City/457746934296100
