This is exactly the opposite of true. The members on the field have comparatively little to do with what wins. Look at the sheets. GE wins, and what is GE but for show design?

Agreed 100%. I am just saying that it is a choice to do two parades on a show day to make money, and if there are competitive consequences, there are competitive consequences.

I think you're right, but likely for different reasons. The Cadets are doing not one, but *two* parades prior to the show. Despite their best efforts, I would not expect them to be exactly at their best when gate time rolls around. This is poor planning on their part in my opinion and they deserve whatever they get as a result. I think a week from now, things will be different.

I'd like to nominate OP and the following post for "content of the year." Is there a committee or something? I feel like every alum has a moment where some kind of "innovation" drives them away a bit and makes the activity a little less recognizable. For some it was Bb horns. For some it was amps. For me, it was the moment when body movement became basically compulsory. Just stand in that 8 count hold and play. I don't need to see you lunging for lunging's sake. And further, lunging for lunging's sake is lazy ####### design.

Yeah, permission from the corps is not permission to violate copyright. The music is the music. If you see something, enjoy it because it probably is illegal and will disappear soon.

I have no idea who you are. I can only gather from your posting history that you do not have a kid in the corps, and therefore are an adult that hangs around the corps and has relationships with members, which is fine. However, knowing members doesn't make anonymously posting their names on a public board any less creepy, in my opinion. (And it's just an opinion. Call your lawyer if you want to pay her to tell you why this isn't defamation.)

The court seems content to lease it continuously for $4000/month for now, which is totally fine if someone is willing to rent it for that.

The corporation still exists and the bankruptcy case is still open. They sold the food and equipment trucks for $4000 each and are leasing G-West to someone for $4000/month. Interestingly, G-West is valued at $180,000, but there is a note that the board thinks it is only worth $40,000 because it is falling apart and has not been well maintained, especially the boiler room. The largest creditors were DCI for loans in 2011 and 2012 and Brian Hickman for unpaid salary and benefits. This is ALL public record, available to anyone.

Totally fair assessment. That said, I spend a lot of money with DCI each year (mostly during Finals Week) and I'd like to see something that actually works on my phone when I'm actually at a show.

How is this justification for lack of responsive design in 2015? I could install wordpress and deploy a responsive theme in 15 minutes. This isn't rocket science.

It seems as though Crown's brass section has completed its metamorphosis into a wholly separate organization. There isn't a single mention on the site of the other sections of the corps, or even that the hornline is just one part of a larger performing group. If you were an alien that stumbled onto that website, you wouldn't be able to figure out that there are drums in drum corps. Sure, Crown's brass is great but do you know why? Because the percussion and guard are also great. Because the corps has great design. Maybe I'm old, but this just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe the role of a "section" is no longer what it was in my day.

The first corps to do a Run The Jewels show wins forever. NSFW language, but you should listen even if you "hate" rap because the music is awesome.
