  1. It wasn't as bad as 2005 or 2006, but the corps was still grossly mismanaged. I was there. Got a problem with it?
  2. That's what I've come to understand. Quoted for truth
  3. It's been brought up and discussed to death before, but you are essentially correct
  4. 27th Lancers: 1981 Anaheim Kingsmen: 1974 Blue Devils: 2008 Blue Knights: 2006 Blue Stars: 2008 Bluecoats: 2006 Boston Crusaders: 2000 Cadets: 2005. But 1985 is pretty wonderful too....so many great shows. Carolina Crown: 2007 Cavaliers: 2000 Glassmen: 2001 Madison Scouts: 1988 Phantom Regiment: 1996 Santa Clara Vanguard: 1999 Star of Indiana: 1993 Suncoast Sound: 1984
  5. Good video, great sentiment, wonderful thank you for the fans, but there is some gross marching
  6. Re: Innovation...so, we're ###### if we do and ###### if we don't; if it had stayed in, people would have #####ed. Since it was changed....people #####!
  7. 1. The Cadets What can I say? They're my alma mater...Love that they stretch their talent more than any other corps, and aren't afraid to take risks instead of resting on their laurels. Love the tradition, the class. The marching style. Even before I was a member, all the fantastic instructors that came from there...75 years of excellence...FHNSAB 2. SCV Usually love their musical selections, great drill, always love their military bearing and class. Great aura around this corps.
  8. oh, Best Drum Feature: BD, I loved how they combined the battery with the AMPED drum set
  9. Indeed, a brass with more copper would be more expensive; copper is expensive, zinc is cheap.
  10. Actually, I measured my pulse after their show and it was 135 bpm. I think it's like a post-traumatic drill disorder thing, I get really worked up seeing my corps out there doing that crazy, dangerous stuff and have flashbacks to marching it myself. Jay Bocook took a few years off from arranging for Cadets in the early 2000s and it was ok...
  11. Wow, people need to get a life. Yea, I saw some guy holding up a shirt after a lot of shows at Semis. We were all so impressed by you. He didn't hold it up after Phantom or SCV though...did he not realize that they also use amplification? Guess it proves that it's not what, it's how you do it.
  12. doyle--For championships, The Cadets ended the show with the fast n' loud part. The ending was totally cut. Zeal--Thank you for your words of praise. If I might suggest it, check out the 2006 high cam; the show kicks up to 204 bpm in the last 1:20 and there is so crazy stuff in there. Though I think variety is good and there are several effective ways to end a show, and I respect different corps' approaches, sometimes it is disappointing when a corps marches halftime or park and barks at the end of the show. As a member, I was running at the end of all three of my shows, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
  13. Actually, kindof BAMF. I want it And it is a real instrument!
  14. SPOILER ALERT RE: Dancer in the Dark The protagonist is a blind woman trying to make money to keep her son from also going blind. She loses her job, and gets thrown in jail when she shoots a guy who was trying to take her savings. After a long, gut-wrenching scene, she is hanged to death. The End. Disturbing.
  15. Bassoon If Cadets ever need a bassoon tech, I am there..... FHNSAB
  16. Ain't gonna be no rematch! Guess he was right.
  17. Best Opener: SCV Best Ballad: Crown Best Closer: Cadets (Vesuvius was awesome) Best Soloist: PR's mello soloist in the ballad. Seriously, he carried that ballad nearly by himself and was nails every time...one of the best ever. Best Marching: Blue Devils--everyone knows the technique so well and executes it on the highest level. Also, great upper body. Best Guard: BD or Crown
  18. I think it's a cool idea. Taking storytelling to a new level. Cadets '06 was a continuation; 2005 was the girl going through different rooms, each one being a different "dreamscape"; 2006 was all one dreamscape, Alice in Wonderland....land. The opening drill for 2006 was the closer drill for 2005 with different music, to give a cinematic "last time, on The Zone..." feel.
  19. I guess I forgot the  Seriously, folks, joke post. I thought my original post was satirical and over the top enough........Though if someone did Dancer in the Dark and someone did A Clockwork Orange...I think picking the most disturbing movies you could find and making a show out of them would be an interesting design paradigm, to say the least.
