  1. I can never really make out a schedule untill after the entries are in. AS an example last year with 2 weeks to go I had 60, I&E entries, we had over 125 compete in I&E. Hint help me out and get those entries in early. This year we are going to try and have everyone out and partying by 11 PM if possible, so the Mini Show should start about 8. But what ever. Sept. 3rd Main Street Rochester Be There.
  2. YES, I believe this is the first time for a Shriners group to compete. The "all Age Activity" is growing. Sept 3rd, Main Street Rochester Be There!!!! Get those applications in during your "goin fishing week."
  3. I know you are tired. You did a great job in Jamestown. How about some info on the trucks lots of Northerns pulling for you.
  4. So now that DCA has a goin fishing week. It is the time for I&E sign up. Don't wait untill the end of this month. The good spots are filling in. Sign up now and and be ready to compete. Sept 3rd; Main Street Rochester the place to be: Tell your friends to sign up!!!
  5. Actually the Inspires played the rumps the first year I saw them. It seems to me they placed pretty well. I guess corps outside N. America can play rehashed music. I haven't been able to get to a show this year because of health reasons, but from what I read an have been told by others the Corps are great and Bucs have been the best. I haven't had an email or call from any director who told me they have given up. 3 class A Corps had a show in Albany which may have opned up a new site for future years. I have received 50 entries for I&E so far and 12 mini Corps. I would say the season is going well, and I can't wait to see all 26 corps and have a drink with the judges. Their performances are always reviewed and they work to place each Corps properly in their caption. Remember no judge knows the outcome untill he goes into the tab room after the show. Go DCA. Sept 3 Downtown Rochester the biggest Drum Corps party in the world.
  6. The English couldn't beat us in Soccer, but they are whipping us in DCA I&E registrations. Lets go USA: SEPT 3rd: MAIN STREET ROCHESTER THE PLACE TO BE!!!!
  7. I should have double checked my Data Base. Sure enough Cadre has already paid and is entered to try and retain their title. But Matt is the first of what I am hearing will be many European entries. PS: No trombones, what Tom said.
  8. Everyone say hi to Matt Williams the first international sign up this year. Bari from Kidsgrove. He even beat Cadre that is an accomplishment.
  9. Joe we think we make the rules easy> But everytime I think they are set they drag me back in. lol But any questions, I'm always here.
  10. Everyone loves to stay downtown at the Raddison, but of course everyone can't. If you go on the DCA web-site there is a page for booking rooms. The Convention Bureau takes great care of DCA guest. Any of the room they would put you in will meet your expectations. Donna Duckett Rocks!!!
  11. For those you you that have a pay-pal account you can pay through pay-pal for your entry. SEPT 3rd: MAIN STREET ROCHESTER THE PLACE TO BE!!!!
  12. Matt will you write me or have one of your directors write me at DCAiande@aol.com. I have a couple of ideas to help your entries. Peashey tells me that the exchange rate means you will owe .02$ a memebr., lol. Write to me a we will set up a process.

First Horn signed in same day Tony Fiumara ( Shen Sound)and Scooter Pirtle ( Star United) First Percussion Wendy Tran ( Renegades) Now lets get busy out there and fill out my data base. SEPT 3rd: MAIN STREET ROCHESTER THE PLACE TO BE!!!!
  17. Governor Bredsen is a good friend of mine. He played a hell of a Baritone, but never did march Corps. I thought he had done a season with a parade Corps. He is term limited too bad for TN, he is a good man. When we talk he asks about Corps he is a fan.
  18. Glenn has everything up and running on the DCA Web site. We're off. Friday Night in Rochester at DCA what a party! You can apply by sending an application to DCAiande@aol.com or Rap48@aol.com.
  19. I think this is great for Drum Corps to be asked to do a recital at a music school with a memeber. Good going Brass! Happy graduation to MR. Tuba.
  20. Many people mention Cooley's skills at directing hornlines but seldom is his skill in playing mentioned. Steve can make that Bari speak with the best of them. The WNYDCA is growing and fun group to participate with.
  21. When I was in HS the Legion would come by and pick a trumpet player up from school and take them to the cemetary. The band director had a rotation for us to play and be asked, the great thing was we even got $10 for the gig, alot for a HS kid in the 60ies. When I started playing for our local Legion back about 10 years ago, the question came up as to who played at the monuments during the Legion ceremory, my town does three. I was told I could but the HS usually had someone, of course I made sure the kid did it. I asked why don't you get a HS kid to play when ever you need them and explained what went on when I played in HS. The answer was the school wouldn't let one Legionaire pick up a kid by themselves because of insurance problems. Can't play anymore because of breathing steroids I use :(. But today the HS kid was sweet.
  22. Before Morgan joins in I feel it necessary to mention the Cellar Savers firemen's band at this time.
  23. Sept 3rd. The place to be is Main Street Rochester Chris the I&E is a fun way to start the Championhip weekend. The I&E is held in two buildings that are connected by a walk way. Brass compete in the Raddison Hotel in 4 or 5 different venues. The Percussion and guard individuals compete in the Convention Center. The building straddle main Street Rochester whch is closed to traffic. The city erects a stage that allows percussion ensembles to compete out side. As you walk from venue to venue or browse the percussion on the street you will find many beverage and food stations willing to service you. Around 8 o'clock the Mini Corps take center stage in the Convention Center. Some great sounds not to mention the competition. The Convention Center also features some great NY state Wines. After the Mini Show it back to a streeet party.
  24. Good idea. I bet Glenn can't wait untill the season and then he can get off of the web-site and the new DCA ideas .ie scores, that he's woprked on all winter.
